Goddard Space Flight Center Fastener Inventory Program
Our goal is to reduce the cost and procurement lead-time of flight quality fasteners by buying fasteners in bulk and distributing them from a centralized inventory. GSFC has taken a lead center role in this by first establishing a metric flight fastener inventory and now expanding that with an extensive U.S. Standard flight fastener inventory. GSFC would like to be the provider of choice for flight fasteners to all interested centers.

The GSFC Flight Fastener Committee is disseminating the following information to familiarize other NASA centers with the procedures for obtaining fastener support.
Identify a Center Contact Point
Each Center project can designate a single point of contact and provide a name, address, phone number, and E-mail address to the GSFC point of contact. These contacts should be used to coordinate fastener requirements and funding information.
Fastener Costs
The total cost of the fasteners is the sum of hardware and incoming inspection cost. The hardware cost is the actual procurement cost to GSFC.
Ordering
The contact point at each center can order fasteners by E-mailing, faxing (301-286-1740), or calling (301-286-9646) Melissa Meyers with the following information. If many part numbers are desired, please submit the order on an Excel spreadsheet.

We will furnish fasteners that are listed on the GSFC Preferred U.S. Standard Fastener List and the GSFC Preferred Metric Fastener List. We will also procure and certify to the S-313-100 "GSFC Fastener Integrity Requirements" any other fasteners you require.
